Posted

Learning about your recruiter can be a valuable way to get to know someone important to your professional network. That personal connection can help build a relationship of trust and understanding that will really help you level up your career. Here at All-Star Personnel, we hire talented and dedicated recruiters who are committed to helping you find the job that is right for you.

Today we’re talking to recruiter Tawi Lamkai. Tawi has been a recruiter at All-Star for over a year now and loves going on road trips, hiking, trying new things, and generally exploring the world. Here’s what Tawi has to say about her job at All-Star.

What would you say helps an associate stand out?

An associate who is positive, open-minded, and ready to absorb new skills appears to stand out from the crowd.

What does a day in your life at All-Star Personnel look like?

Just like each assignment our associate takes on, our job can become challenging at times as well. However, we take pride in what we do every day and continue to fight the good fight for our associates and clients. As a result, we get to see our associates succeed and have happy clients. This surpasses all challenges we face on a daily basis.

What’s your best tip for an associate once they go on assignment?

Each assignment will have its own challenges and opportunities. That’s why it is important to have the mindset of someone who has the willingness to learn, adapt, and be a team player. This is what will help lead all associates beyond their current positions and help them grow in their overall career.

What traits do the associates you have worked with share?

One of the most common traits I observed from all associates is an eagerness to work. This is vital when taking on assignments. When you show up for an interview or for a new assignment eager to bring your best self each and every day, that is when you can succeed.

What interested you in becoming a recruiter?

I wanted to become a recruiter because I am passionate about helping others. I want to be a part of positive change for the candidates I work with. This inspires me to be who I am today. It gives me such a sense of joy and accomplishment.

Tell me more about how you help a job seeker on assignment?

When applicants come in the office, my number one goal is to find out their needs and what they want to achieve in their career. I do this by asking questions and really listening to what they have to say. This allows me to narrow down the best-fit clients for them. We also provide crucial information to all applicants prior to employment and follow up with guidance, support and counseling so that hopefully they can be hired on full-time at the end of their assignment.

What’s your best tip for someone who is a new temporary associate?

One important thing to remember for all new associates is to treat each assignment as an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to showcase your talents and skills with an open mind. You never know what might come from the relationships you build while on a contract.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I really enjoy being a part of helping our community grow and helping individuals reach their ultimate goal. It’s what I really enjoy most about my job.

In your opinion, what makes a great associate?

A great associate is one who is open minded, willing to learn, and able to adapt to new situations. Most importantly, they are someone who can communicate with their agency in regards to any questions or issues they might face over the length of their assignment.

Is there anything else you want to add?

Communication is the key to success. We are here to help all associates in the best possible way. It is difficult for us to assist or provide guidance when problems are not flagged quickly to us. The bottom line is that when our associates succeed, we succeed as a team!
